they met at work up at the san ysidro ranch. they sat together for lunch one day, and she found herself intrigued by his tattoos. she wanted to know the story and meaning behind each one. so she asked. and listened as he explained. he apparently was very impressed by her interest. they hung out a couple times with all of the staff downtown and discovered a shared love for dancing.
he soon invited her to the avocado festival in carp. "he put his hand on my lower back to guide me through the crowd, like a gentleman" she recalls. "later, we went to church together and i was impressed by his devotion during the service - and we held hands for the first time during the prayer. that's when i knew. he asked me on our first date november 4th and from then on, it's been he and i. in love."
they are lauren and nick. and this is them.
epic tree-fence goodness.
i love how they make each other laugh.
lauren loves christmas, so we do most of their engagement shoot at night in downtown carptineria, california to create a fun holiday vibe.
on a more personal note, keenie (as i call her) and i have been friends since our freshman year of college. we've been on quite a few adventures together. we have danced many a groove. we were resident assistants on the same staff and together planned many a hall party. we laughed, we prayed, we cried. she is one of my dearest friends, and i am so honored and thrilled to be photographing her and nick's wedding next may. and i couldn't be more happy for the pair of them.
they are lauren and nick, and that was their story.
