my family got a new dog. and well, he's adorable and precious. almost unbearably so. and quite frankly, there are no words, so alas, feast your eyes and this lil' guy...

karin + gary: wedding | san francisco, california.

karin and gary are the types of people you can't help but respect, admire and simply enjoy. they have a level of sophistication and class that is just plain magnetic, and they are deeply committed to caring for those around them. so it was no surprise that their intimate wedding at the palace hotel in san francisco was full of beautiful moments, rich conversations and wonderful people. i loved the simplicity and intimacy of this wedding. the venue was gorgeous and unique and had that old san fransisco charm that was so inviting.

before i arrived to met-up with the bride, i got lost in the streets surrounding the venue and along the way captured this little nugget of the palace hotel from afar.

i got to spend the morning with karin and let me tell you she is an absolute delight. and gorgeous to boot.

check out her hair... a hair stylist's dream to be sure. this shot on the top is one of my favorites from the day.

the tying of the sash was quite complicated but with some perseverance and some collaboration we finally figured it out. and karin just smiled all along the way.

it was a bit chilly outsite but karin was willing to brave the wind to get some fun shots in the city.

they must have thought i was rediculous when i was directing with wild gestures from way across the street. but hey, you do what you got to do.

after we combated the wind, we sneaked up to their amazing honeymoon suite for some more portraits.

and now, it's time to celebreate...

and finally, some fun dancing shots from the reception. let me tell you, this crew had some moves. hilarious and wildly entertaining. my favorite? the mother of the groom. she's awesome and was smiling the entire time. love her!

they met in cyberspace and soon thereafter rendezvoused for lunch at a restaurant on fillmore street in san francisco. they love to chat, to converse, to share life each other. they cook, they ski, they dine and they laugh. together. they love to be home curled up on the couch with a glass of good wine and a great movie. it's about sharing in the everydayness, about being a team and about loving and supporting each other.

she likes white chocolate chip cookies. he's a big fan of italian made shoes. she loves to run and he to surf. she is insightful and considerate and he is loyal and lighthearted. she loves how he cares for her and for others and how she can trust him with her deepest thoughts. she is his beloved, and he is hers. they are karin and gary, and this is their story...

sometimes i lurk in the bushes to make my couples laugh. it works like a charm. for SO many reasons.

chase merrell. musician.

you know those people that have a gift? that raw talent that is unique and you have a gut feeling they are going to be successful in whatever they do? the people who have such heart and passion and vision? well, chase merrell is one of those people. i knew him when he was a wee lad back in the days of growing up in mammoth and hadn't seen or heard from him in ten or so years. then all of the sudden, chase merrell--the up and coming musician--makes his way onto my facebook news feed. i was impressed by his voice, his gift of writing and his honesty. right then and there, i secretly wanted to do a shoot for him someday. several months later, i got the e-mail and i happily and willingly obliged. for the next few weeks, we schemed an epic shoot and decided san fancisco would be the idyllic place to rock it out. so we rendezvoused in the city a few months ago and created some epic photo goodness together.

one of the things i love most about chase is his vision and how he cares for people. he loves well. and he navigates through his life in way that is honest, authentic and Christ-centered and -driven. he is passion about caring for people and for calling them to a higher purpose. i am quite looking forward to seeing him grow as an artist and as a follower of Christ.
